Peraturan Keselamatan Kerja Konstruksi

Saya tidak menyangka Blog iseng iseng yang saya tulis mengenai keselamatan kerja (K3) mendapat respon besar bahkan beberapa traffic dari luar negeri, saya mau sharing pengalaman saat dulu di bagian safety officer perusahaan konstruksi hal hal yang paling berat sebagai petugas safety officer adalah, jika perusahaan tersebut menggunakan tenaga kerja outsourcing yang tidak mau repot tanda kutip keluar biaya demi keselamatan kerja pekerja



Sehingga tidak jarang kadang sering terlibat adu mulut meski tidak adu fisik tentang pentingnya peran petugas keselamatan kerja atau safety officer di lapangan, yang dianggap hanya tukang cari kesalahan orang lain


pasti teman2 safety officer juga pernah mengalami hal ini dilapangan :)

MSDS ( Material Safety Data Sheet) atau Lembar Data Keselamatan Bahan (LDKB), merupakan kumpulan data keselamatan dan petunjuk dalam penggunaan bahan bahan kimia berbahaya. Data dari MSDS maupun LDKB sangat pentng dalam penyimpanan. penanganan,pemakaian, dan pembuangan zat kimia. Data ini merupakan protocol standar keamanan dan keselamatan kerja. Sehingga mampu mendukung budaya terciptanya kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja.

OSHA estimates forklifts cause about 85 fatal accidents per year; 34,900 accidents result in serious injury; and 61,800 are classified as non-serious.
According to the Industrial Truck Association, there are about 855,900 forklifts in the U.S. Therefore, over 11% of all forklifts will be involved in some type of accident each year (assuming only one accident per forklift).
The ITA also reports that the useful life of a lift truck is about 8 years. This means that about 90% of all forklifts will be involved in some type of accident during their useful life--again assuming only one accident per forklift. If you operate this equipment, there is a possibility that you may have an accident at some point during your career. To help reduce the possibility of being injured, it's important to understand where and how these accidents occur.

Preventing these accidents:
Studies show that many of these accidents could have been prevented by better training. No one starts out with the innate knowledge, skills, and abilities to safely operate a forklift. As OSHA requires, drivers must be properly trained to do so. The lesson to be learned is, operating a forklift without training is dangerous and can even be fatal to you or other employees working in the area..

Training can also prevent or reduce the severity of an accident related to the stability of a lift truck traveling with an elevated load. Keep the load as low as possible to increase vehicle stability and to help prevent tip-over accidents. Even if drivers ignore this rule, and the vehicle tips over, injuries are usually minor if they stay with the vehicle instead of jumping off. The normal tendency is for a person to jump downward, so the driver lands on the floor or ground--usually directly into the path of the overhead guard. The most common result is a crushing injury to the head, neck, or back where the overhead guard strikes the employee.
Forty-two percent of forklift fatalities are caused by the operator trying to jump from a tipping vehicle. To keep this from happening to you, always remember tokeep the load as low as possible and stay with the vehicle if it tips over. Wearing your seat belt is the best safety measure!

Surabaya - Pasca dua kapal senggolan, KM Tanto Niaga dan KM Mitra Ocean saat ini di sekeliling kapal cargo tersebut dipasang oil boom atau alat untuk mengisolasi tumpahan minyak.

Hal itu dilakukan karena di sekitar lokasi tabrakan sudah terlihat adanya tumpah minyak yang berasal dari dalam kapal tersebut.

"Sudah dipasang oil boom, ini untuk mengisolasi tumpahan minyak," kata Kepala Kasi Pengamanan dan Penertiban (Pamtib) KPLP Tanjung Perak, Barlet S kepada detiksurabaya.com saat meninjau lokasi karamnya KM Tanto Niaga, Sabtu (23/5/2009).

Kondisi Kapal Tanto Niaga Karam dengan posisi miring atau rebah ke bagian kanan setelah bertabrakan di dengan KM Mitra Ocean di dekat Dermaga Terminal Petikemas Surabaya (TPS) Tanjung Perak. Kapal tersebut karam di jarak 200-300 meter dari lokasi tabrakan.

Dari pantauan detiksurabaya.com, KM Tanto Niaga sendiri tidak karam sepenuhnya ke dasar laut karena di bagian laut yang dangkal. Masih terlihat anjungan kapal, lambung kapal, tiang kapal, sekoci dan kontainer yang masih menempel di badan kapal.

"KM Tanto Niaga karamnya di 400 meter dari Terminal Peti Kemas," ujarnya.

Sementara KM Mitra Ocean yang bertabrakan dengan KM Tanto Niaga kondisinya tidak karam. Kapal tersebut masih mengapung dan saat ini bersandar di jarak 500 meter arah selatan dari Terminal Peti Kemas. Hanya mengalami kerusakan di haluan bagian atas.

Sebelumnya, dua kapal bersenggolan pukul 18.00 WIB, Jumat (22/5/2009). Senggolan yang terjadi di lokasi yang berjarak 200 meter dari dermaga itu membuat haluan atau bagian depan KM Tanto Niaga sobek. Akibatnya ratusan kontainer kosong berhamburan ke laut.(wln/fat)

Bogor botanical garden visitors killed by lightning

Lightning reportedly struck and killed two visitors Monday at the Bogor Botanical Garden, prompting park officials to warn visitors to leave the garden or take cover inside buildings in the area.

The park’s administrative affairs head Amas said Tuesday those killed were Jemadi, 40, and Sumini, 42, residents of Kedaung Kali Angke, Cengkareng, Tangerang.

The pair entered the garden Monday, during heavy rain accompanied by lightning and thunder that pounded Bogor.

Botanical Garden staff found their bodies Tuesday under a lychee tree near a pond. Amas said there were bruises on Jamadi’s legs and it was believed the cause of death was electrocution by lightning. The bodies were sent to PMI Hospital.

“To prevent similar incidents recurring, we warned visitors to immediately leave the garden when it rains, or to find cover in an office or research building. Do not take cover under a tree,” he said.

48 Orang Tersambar Petir

Telinga Usman, warga Bukit Cermin Tanjungpinang, berdenging tak terkira. Ia seperti mendengar ledakan bom persis di atas tanah tempat kakinya berdiri di tepi sebuah warung dekat lapangan bola Senggarang. Saking kerasnya ledakan tersebut, tubuh Usman terpental hingga 10 meter. ''Setelah itu, saya tak ingat apa-apa lagi,'' katanya. Usman baru tersadar setelah tubuhnya terkulai di atas ranjang rumah sakit.

Usman adalah satu dari 48 orang warga yang tersambar petir usai menonton pertandingan bola di lapangan Senggarang, Tanjungpinang, Sabtu (21/3). Di antara para korban itu,. 23 orang dilarikan ke Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah (RSUD), 8 orang dirawat di Rumah Sakit Angkatan Laut (RSAL) dan 4 dirawat di Puskesmas Kampung Bugis. Salah seorang korban yang dirawat di RSUD, atas nama Supanti,15 tahun, meninggal dunia. Tiga korban diopname dan menjalani rawat inap di RSUD, selebihnya korban masih dalam tahap observasi.


Usman menuturkan, sekitar pukul 16.00 WIB, usai menonton pertandingan bola, hujan deras disertai petir mengurng kawasan Senggarang. Para penonton memilih berteduh di sebuah warung, tak jauh dari lapangan.


Tak lama berselang, tiba-tiba petir menyambar tanah yang jaraknya lima meter dari warung tersebut. ''Rasanya seperti ada bom,'' ungkap Usman yang masih merasakan nyeri di dada kanan dan punggung belakang.


Melihat kondisi para korban yang terbaring di UGD RSUD, kebanyakan korban mengalami luka bakar. Erma Susanti,31 tahun, dan anaknya Suci, 3,5 tahun, terbaring lemas tak berdaya. Erma mengalami luka bakar di pangkal paha, dan Suci mengalami luka bakar di dada kanan. ''Dada saya sesak,'' ungkap warga Tanjung Lanjut Kampung Bugis ini.


Ny Mamar (34), korban lain yang dirawat di RSUD menuturkan, saat kejadian dia bersama suami dan dua anaknya menonton pertandingan sepak bola Sebauk Cup yang sudah memasuki babak final. Belum selesai seluruh pertandingan hujan deras turun disertai petir bersahut-sahutan. Pertandingan dihentikan, dan para penonton termasuk dirinya berlarian mencari tempat berlindung.


Dia bersama suami dan anak-anaknya berteduh di sebuah warung yang dekat dengan sebatang pohon yang besar. Di dalam warung itu sejumlah warga sudah lebih dulu berlindung. ’’Suami saya sempat mengajak pulang, tapi saya takut karena banyak petir. Saya duduk berjongkok karena penat saya mau berdiri. Tiba-tiba tak sadar saja dan tahu-tahu sudah di dalam masjid,’’ katanya.


Bagaimana suara petir itu, dia tak ingat lagi karena langsung tak sadar saat akan berdiri dari berjongkok. Yang dia tahu, warung itu memang dekat dengan pohon yang tinggi dan ketika sadar ada luka bakar di bahu kanan dan lengan kanannya. Selain itu, baju lengan panjangnya yang di sebelah kanan juga hangus terbakar hingga ke pangkal lengan.


Saksi lainnya, Ny Yus mengatakan petang itu ada dua pertandingan yang dilaksanakan untuk memperebutkan juara I, II, III dan IV. Itu sebabnya seluruh pinggir lapangan penuh dengan penonton karena ini menjadi hiburan bagi mereka.

Pertandingan pertama dilaksanakan antara Kesebelasan Tanjunglanjut dengan Kesebelasan Selat Bintan yang dimenangkan oleh Kes Tanjunglanjut dengan skor 3-2 dan berhak atas juara III. Sementara perebutan juara I belum sempat dilaksanakan hari sudah hujan yang disertai petir.


Menurut salah satu dokter yang menangani pasien di RSUD dr Eddy Sobri SpPD, rata-rata korban mengalami luka bakar dan sengatan ke jantung. Akibatnya, irama jantung terganggu. Korban yang meninggal, menurutnya, sengatannya sangat kuat. Hal ini kemungkinannya dilihat dari posisi dan sengatan yang cukup kuat yang ia terima. ''Seperti kalau kita kesetrum, yang skalanya kecil pasti langsung kaget, dan ini dalam kekuatan yang sangat besar,'' jelasnya.


Dr Eka Hanasarianto, Staf Ahli Bidang Kemasyarakatan dan SDM Walikota Tanjungpinang yang saat itu juga tampak menangani korban petir mengungkapkan, para korban terkena percikan dari petir. ''Lima meter dari pusat sasaran petir ke warung itu dekat, sehingga percikan inilah yang menyebabkan luka dan sengatan listrik hingga irama jantung korban terganggu, tapi itu bisa kembali normal,'' kata Eka menenangkan.


Jika berada dalam rumah, hindari poisi yang dekat dengan kontak listrik. Dari kejadian yang dialami korban, lima meter dari sasaran petir yang saat itu menyambar tanah, percikan petir mengenai korban sangat besar kemungkinan akibat tanah yang basah. ''Korban yang meninggal, bisa jadi posisinya lebih dekat atau mengenai percikan petir yang lebih kuat,'' paparnya.


Untuk biaya perawatan semua korban ditanggung pemerintah, hal ini diungkapkan Wakil Wali Kota Tanjungpinang Edward Mushalli yang memantau kondisi korban di RSUD. ''Ini bencana, semua biaya perawatan hingga obat dan kendaraan pulang dari RS ditanggung pemerintah kota,'' ungkap Edward. (git)

Yang Pergi bersama Petir

-Minggu (1/3/2009), satu keluarga tersambar petir ketika berkumpul di rumah daerah Taman Raya, Batam Centre. Seorang di antaranya Agus Triono, tewas akibat sambaran petir yang menghanguskan kepala bagian belakangnya.

-Kamis (16/10/2008) dini hari di perairan Rangsang, Kabupaten Bengkalis, Nahkoda Kapal KM Usman Jaya GT 34 M Agus bin Abd Hamis, 32 tewas disambar petir.

-2000, seorang pejabat Departemen Keuangan tewas tersambar petir di Lapangan Golf Southlink, Batam. (ros)
